Endurance

The ancients’ spoke and I turned a diligent ear,
Their voices rang truth I held very dear.
A man taught me by the hand of God, His Word to reveal,
That which is with the Almighty he did not conceal.

He taught me to stand, simple enough it seemed,
In many a fire he kindled beyond my belief.
To stand it was easy when all had vision,
Strokes came fast and promotions were given.

The power of right words was quite evident,
Truth came off my lips to whom it was sent.
Many believed and deliverance came free,
My heart thrilled, “God first”, that was the key.

As years passed by the law gripped my heart,
The joy that was my strength began to depart.
Despair was great, tears on my face,
My God’s comfort soon to replace.

He never left my side God’s love so sure,
Victory is mine, with His embrace I will endure.
With sweet wisdom now firmly in place,
God’s power is ours to finish the race.

The competition is keen ascending lifes’ mountain,
Rise up my fellows, tap into God’s fountain.
With perfect peace we enter into His rest,
If doubts arise, remember, “You are God’s best”.
